Danger Passed On Mortgages

The worst has passed on risk of defaults by homeowners with fixed payment, variable rate mortgages, says Canada’s chief bank inspector. The Superintendent of Financial Institutions in an internal memo said while 1,100,000 loans have yet to come up for renewal, no danger was apparent: “We recognize many households are facing higher payment requirements.”
