A Sunday Poem: “Hijacked”

A new type of malicious software

spreads in the world’s computers.

The ransomware.

It encrypts photos, documents,

rendering them inaccessible.

One must pay to unlock them.

I imagine the warning message

on Senator Wallin’s computer:

“Access to your travel records

is denied.

Please pay to keep it this way.”

(Editor’s note: poet Shai Ben-Shalom, an Israeli-born biologist, examines current events in the Blacklock’s tradition each and every Sunday)
