“Chicken For Valentine”

 

At my friend’s wedding

waitress recommends

the free-range quarter-chicken

roasted

in fine herbs.

 

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day;

you were thinking of a chicken breast

in mushroom and red wine sauce.

 

Whenever we celebrate

a chicken must die.
