Poem: “For A Greener City”

Along the highway,

an excavator

is uprooting trees

for road construction.

The company’s name –

white letters on the hydraulic arm –

is visible from a distance.

Greenbelt.

(Editor’s note: poet Shai Ben-Shalom, an Israeli-born biologist, examines current events in the Blacklock’s tradition each and every Sunday).
