Poem: “Reading The Map”

Lyme disease spreads north.

Favourable conditions

from climate change

open new habitats

for the black-legged ticks.

Their heads

– less than a millimetre –

grasp what some advisors

in the Oval Office

don’t.

(Editor’s note: poet Shai Ben-Shalom, an Israeli-born biologist, examines current events in the Blacklock’s tradition each and every Sunday)
